Visitors were able to enjoy a colourful showcase of traditional folk songs and customs from the Zempl\u00edn region.<\/p>\n<p>The event also featured regional specialities prepared by local branches of the Union of Pensioners in Slovakia. These included Tarnava-style poga\u010dka, homemade and Zempl\u00edn-style stuffed cabbage rolls, \u010deregi, pancakes and pork with cabbage.<\/p>\n<p>The event was also attended by Rastislav Trnka, President of the Ko\u0161ice Self-Governing Region. Together with representatives of the Union of Pensioners in Slovakia, he met with seniors and performers. On this occasion, J\u00e1n Butala, Chairman of the Union of Pensioners in Slovakia, expressed his thanks to them.<\/p>\n<p>The Summer with Seniors event in Str\u00e1\u017eske thus brought together folklore, traditional cuisine and a pleasant afternoon gathering, while highlighting the rich cultural heritage of the Zempl\u00edn region.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Str\u00e1\u017eske became another stop in the Summer with Seniors series of events, which brings music, traditions and opportunities for people to come together across the region during the summer.
