12,000 Trees for a Greener Future!
On 25 June 2026, the ceremonial handover of the MOUNT GREENFRA project investment took place in the municipality of Buzica, where 12 000 trees were planted. The implemented tree plantation represents an important environmental measure aimed at mitigating the effects of soil erosion and supporting the restoration of green areas.
The municipality of Buzica has long struggled with severe soil erosion. Previous expert analyses have also indicated that the area is affected not only by soil erosion but also by environmental pressures. The tree planting therefore represents an important step towards restoring green spaces and improving the ecological condition of the area.
The newly planted trees will gradually create a natural barrier against soil erosion, helping to stabilise the soil, improve water retention and support the regeneration of the local ecosystem. In addition, the plantation will contribute to increased biodiversity, improved air quality and a healthier environment for the local community.
Overall, the implemented measure will regenerate approximately 4 hectares of green area, with the tree plantation itself covering 2 hectares. It represents a long-term investment in a healthier environment, bringing lasting environmental benefits while contributing to the sustainable development of the municipality.
