Introducing our new project Young4Climate – Raising Awareness and Educating the Young Generation Fighting the Climate Crisis.
The area of climate crisis is a very topical and important issue that needs our attention. In this regard, young people in schools are most important as the next generation that will be forced to tackle the climate crisis and its impacts. That is why we are coming up with a new initiative and project Young4Climate, implemented by EGTC Via Carpathia in cooperation with the Technical University of Košice and Smart Innovation Norway AS.
Young4Climate is a project approved and implemented within the framework of the programme “Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation” (SK-Climate) co-funded by the Norwegian Financial Mechanism 2014-2021 and the State Budget of the Slovak Republic.
The aim of the project is to raise awareness about climate change adaptation and action in this area through a series of innovative awareness-raising activities for students and their relatives in 62 schools in the Košice Region.
The project will help them to understand the issue and prepare them to tackle the climate crisis. All these measures are aimed at achieving the UN’s Global Sustainable Development Goal.
The project outputs include 7 thematic educational programs on adaptation and mitigation of climate change through online games and promotion on social networks, a competition between schools, implementation of demonstration educational measures, and information sessions at schools.

We believe that the Young4Climate project will benefit the younger generation, help them understand the issue and ultimately contribute in the fight against the impacts of the climate crisis.
