How can we improve the safety of tailings ponds in the Košice region?

As part of the Safety4TMF project, we recently organized a meeting called Stakeholder Roundtable, attended by notable guests including representatives from Vodohospodárska výstavba, District Office Košice, State Geological Institute of Dionýz Štúr, Technical University, Faculty of Mining, Ecology, Process Control and Geotechnologies, MH Heating Holding and Košice Self-governing Region on 6.6.2024 in Košice.

We discussed the current situation of tailings ponds, especially in the Košice region. Our partners helped identify the problems and challenges they face and suggested solutions on how they can contribute to the successful implementation of the project.

 We thank everyone for their support and valuable discussions, which brought us closer to improving the safety and more effective management of tailings ponds.
