We don’t have to start from scratch. And that is exactly what LINK-AGE is about

What if technology, prevention and a person-centred approach could help older people remain independent for longer while also supporting those who provide their care?That is exactly what the new LINK-AGE project is about.

At the beginning of September, we met in Treviso, Italy, for the project kick-off meeting, where we joined our partners in starting this journey towards more innovative senior care. Within the project, we will connect and further develop solutions that have already been successfully tested through four European projects – PROCAREFUL, CROSSCARE 2.0, DigiCare4CE and STAR. These projects have introduced, among other things, new approaches to home care, digital technologies and IoT solutions in senior care facilities, person-centred care, and approaches supporting the autonomy and community participation of older people.

For Via Carpatia EGTC, LINK-AGE also builds on our previous experience from the DigiCare4CE project, in which we were a project partner. The experience and results we gained there in the field of digital solutions for senior care can now be further developed through broader international cooperation. We will adapt these solutions to the needs of different regions and test them through six pilot actions across six countries, including Slovakia. The aim is to explore what works, what needs to be adapted, and which solutions have the potential to be taken up in other regions.

And the Košice Region will be part of this journey – from assessing regional needs to testing innovative solutions in practice.
