Project Name: SKHU IT Education – Improve the level of education in field of IT for students of primary and secondary schools on both sides of border

Project Description:

The contemporary digital age calls for higher requirements on society. High applicability in the working environment goes nowadays hand in hand with information technologies and special digital working skills. Demand for IT workers increases together with the number of IT enterprises incoming to Kosice self-governing region as well as Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén County. Therefore is necessary to support social development in this area as soon as possible at the early age of students. The main objective of this current project is to increase the digital competencies and skills of primary and secondary school students in the Kosice self-governing region and Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén County.
Cross Border connection brings the possibility to exchange experiences between teachers from both, Košice self-governing region and Boršod-Abaúj-Zemplén county. This cross-border connection significantly enhances student’s practical experiences and skills in Lego Education SPIKE in line with the labor market.

EZÚS Via Carpatia activities:

The main objective of SKHU IT Education will be reached by procuring Lego Education SPIKE for partner high schools in Košice’s self-governing region with teachers training included. When training is completed, teachers will become IT ambassadors at each high school and Lego Education SPIKE lessons will be part of a voluntary afternoon class program.

High school students will have a great opportunity to enhance their IT skills during workshops and competitions between project partners organized by EGTC Via Carpatia.

Cross-border cooperation will achieve the objectives of the project, which include the implementation of these main activities:

  1. The establishment of the interactive classroom in Košice.
  2. Investment in digital infrastructure by purchasing LEGO Education SPIKE sets and LEGO WeDo 2 sets for primary and secondary schools from Hungary and Slovakia as an innovative form of IT education.
  3. Organization of workshops and training for teachers to use LEGO sets actively during the teaching process, thus enhancing their digital competencies.
  4. Organisation of robotics courses, competitions, and summer camps for students.
