International conference “Development of the trans-European road infrastructure Via Carpatia in Romania”

On 23th March, 2018 in Oradea, Romania was held an international conference named “Development of the trans-European road infrastructure Via Carpatia in Romania”. The conference was hosted by the prefecture of Bihor County. The attendees represented the national public authorities as well as the Romanian, Hungarian, Slovak and Polish regions, which share the idea of supporting the building of the Via Carpatia transit corridor.

A speech as a part of the agenda had: Mr. Andor Tóth, Deputy Secretary of State, Ministry of Development of Hungary, Mr. Piotr Miaso, Head of Podkarackie Regional Roads Administration, Barbora Kováčová, project manager of EGTC Via Carpatia in Košice, Mateusz Gniazdowski, Deputy Director, Centre for Eastern Studies, Poland and Dubniczky Kitti, representative of CESCI, Budapest. The main point of the agenda was to sign the Supporting protocol of the Via Carpatia project in Romania focused on Development Cooperation of the Via Carpatia transit route in Romania between romanian regions located in the Via Carpatia transit corridor.

Subsequently was given an opportunity to ask and to initiate new cooperation. At the end of the conference, the attendees received the invitation to the next Development Support and Construction of the Via Carpatia transit corridor event, which is going to be held in Poland.
